Zearalenone是通常由镰刀菌属物种产生的一种植物雌激素真菌毒素，被证明是一种细胞毒性化合物，但芦荟结合雌激素受体（ER）（ERβ和ERα的IC50值分别为166和240 nM），并被发现可以刺激转录。两种亚型的活性在1-10 nM之间。
